Refresh Your Stressed Body With Nature

Our jobs and careers in the working world have enabled us to live a good life, but we pay a price for it. The workload and responsibilities we take upon at the office would often leave us stressed out and feeling the mental burden. Even after we leave the office, we are constantly in touch with our work through the telecommunication devices the wonderful world of technology has provided us. Our hand phones, pagers, e-mails and Blackberry keeps us worrying and working all day long, even at home. Because of this, we are facing our mental breaking point from the constant bothering.

If you are looking to keep your stress level down, there is always the stress reliever that everyone can use, one that is just beside you. Mother Nature can work their magic on you and help you overcome the stress from work and also home. To you bonding with nature and the green environment might sound cheesy, but in fact it works in a rapid pace, leaving you stress-free and relaxed in a short period of time.

First, you must be willing to take the time to drink in nature and all its beauty. Often, we feel overwhelmed by commitments-so overwhelmed, in fact, that we become guilty if we take time out for ourselves. However, if we are to successfully combat stress, we absolutely must reserve time for stress-relief, and nature can be one of the best stress relievers available.

Each season offers its own unique brand of stress relief. In the autumn, we can be soothed by the multi-colored leaves on the trees, the crunch of leaves under our feet, and lovely azure October skies. By experiencing the beauty of nature, we can become more relaxed and better able to take on life’s challenges.

When Winter season is here, then we can relax by just walking along our neighborhood, striding slowly while gazing at the white and pure snow flakes falling slowly to the ground below us. The cold wind blowing onto us and the low temperature keeps us awake and alert. We feel confident among ourselves when we are trying to fight the cold days. When we feel confident, then the troubles in our mind seem solvable.

When Spring time finally comes, we can truly bless ourselves with the real beauty of nature. The flowers are starting to grow and the different wonderful colors of the plants are starting to show, and the small animals such as the birds chirping away merrily at the trees above you. Try to keep your mind of work after you leave the office by just staring and looking at the flowers at the roadside.

Meanwhile, in the summer, we can experience nature at its most vibrant. We can enjoy the scent of the grass after the lawn has just been mowedand watch the trees gently waving in the summer breeze. We can revel in the sun’s rays, or enjoy the refreshment of a summer shower. Just a few minutes in the outdoors can reduce our stress level dramatically.

There are also a number of nature-related activities we can engage in order to relax. For instance, hiking offers a tremendous opportunity to see the splendor of nature up close and personal. Skiing allows us to enjoy winter’s beauty, while a game of Frisbee can be a tremendous lift on a summer afternoon. Because nature offers such a feast for the senses, enjoying the outdoors can bring a sense of calm and tranquility to our lives that few other things can.

More and more people are finding gardening a hobby which provides us with peace in our minds. We keep ourselves busy and happy with garden chores such as planting the flowers and greens, cutting away the unwanted grass, and many other chores that can help us relieve our stress level in both physical and mental ways. If gardening is not your cup of tea, then you can try doing yard or backyard chores instead to fill your time. Keep yourself busy with outdoor tasks such as mowing your own backyard, raking the dead leaves, or shoveling the snow off your house’s pathway would certainly keep you from worrying about the stress in your lives.

You may be so inspired by nature that you write poetry about the things you see and hear. Such writing can be tremendously cathartic, especially when undertaken outdoors. Lying in a chaise lounge under a tree, composing sonnets about flowers, can get your creative juices flowing-and lower your stress level in the process.

People, especially the working bunch, would be extremely surprised with the results once they embrace their natural loving side once again. Our senses, especially the sight, hearing, and smell would reawaken once we get in touch with Mother Nature. The wonderful and natural world of the environment would certainly be a nice change from the constant noise blaring from the stereos and the television. If you never see yourself as a nature enthusiast, you can still spend short period of time away from work and go outdoors. When your mind is full of vibrant and positive thoughts you find yourself more capable of handling the tasks and problems you are suppose to solve. Just think of taking some time off to enjoy the outdoors as a short holiday break period for yourself.
