Diabetes Test Tips

If you are female and you’ve ever been pregnant then you already know what this test is. To some folks it isn’t enjoyable due to the flavor of the liquid that you have to drink ; however others find that it tastes just like a particularly sweet soda or cool-aid.
The Test – Your consultant will instruct you not to eat or drink after midnight the night before you are lined up to have this test preformed ; hence you may probably need to be sure that your test is lined up for early in the morning. You have to fast before the test or the results may not be correct, so don’t lie to the doctor and try to sneak in something to drink or eat that morning. You would like to have an accurate account of how your body reacts to sugar intake if you’re the least bit concerned whether or not you are a diabetic or not.
You’ll be given a certain amount of really sweet liquid to drink. Today, there are different flavors that are available for you to select from and it can help to make your experience a little better if the facility offers the different choices. Flavors like orange, grape and fruit punch are sometimes very hot. You have got to drink this liquid within a certain time frame, that the medical care pro who administers the test will inform you of. Once you have finished the test, you will then be timed and after certain time duration, they’ll draw blood.
You may then need to wait another hour and then they will draw blood again. Sometimes, this test last three hours and they are going to draw blood roughly three times across the test. Once you are done with the test, you’ll then be in a position to drink or eat normal foods. Once the results come back, your doctor will be informed and depending upon the results, you may either be diagnosed as a diabetic, a pre diabetic, a non diabetic or probably even asked to take the test again.
The diabetes test may appear like a headache due to the period of time that’s needed for you ; however, it is a superb idea that you have this test done if you believe that you could be showing some signs or signs of a diabetic. It is in your own interest to follow thru with this test.
